Branding

Congratulations you own or manage a company! Chances are you already have some form of branding or design in place, even if you did not consciously create that identity. Your branding tells a graphics-based story about your business; it is the clothes and the makeup that define the base of the company you have built. Curious? Consider these things:

  • What fonts do you use?
  • Do you have a company logo or an image you use?
  • Do you use a tagline with your business name?
  • What colors are on your business cards, website, or letterhead?
  • Do you try to maintain a consistent on all of your marketing materials?

Every one of the above mentioned items is a part of the entire company branding you have consciously or unconsciously put into place. Many businesses mistakenly believe that they can throw something together and call it good but we live in a world where consumers are extremely savvy and often very judgmental.

Is your website dated? They will think you are not able to keep current with trends.

Does your color scheme differ from piece to piece? They will likely view you as having poor attention to detail.

Do you have a consistent message or mission statement or is your company information scattered? They will run the other way straight to the doors of a competitor that has taken the time to create a unified presence and branding plan.

If you have made the above errors, don’t worry. Branding is something that can be changed and adjusted easily. With a little forethought, planning, and stellar execution you will be well on your way to portraying an image that is every bit as polished and capable as you are your company are.
